An American-made classic, the Hudson Bay is the epitome of bushcraft and camping axes. A light head for its bit dimensions with an ample hardened poll for pounding stakes etc. The Council Hudson Bay features thicker cheeks than the Snow & Nealley rendition of the same pattern, and is brilliantly balanced. Patterned after a Hudson Bay single bit cruiser formerly carried by L.L. Bean outfitters that corrected some of the main drawbacks of other popular renditions of the pattern by increasing the depth of the eye and better distributing the mass between the bit and poll.
The only thing wrong with these examples is a small chip out of the handle knob where the axes managed to cut into one another in shipping. Easily filled, rasped out, or otherwise corrected.
If selecting the Special Grade option we will thin and refine the factory edge.
