An extra coarse file-textured 70 grit stone capable of "ironing out" nicks, dings, and rolls in damaged or extremely dull edges. The shape (minus the textured surface) is identical to classic American pattern scythe stones, and is able to sharpen forward-curving edges as well as straight and upswept ones. Perfect for repairing blades that have seen work heavier than they could handle, or for maintaining the edges on digging tools like shovels, hoes, and mattocks, as the stone will not be damaged by dirt like a file would be. The ridged surface will wear smooth in time, but will remain very aggressive. Also great for establishing the initial edge on new unsharpened tools! Made in the USA.
